We use characters, stories, interactive activities and family participation to turn preparedness into something children ages 5–10 can understand, remember and practice.

The child learns through the Interactive Workbook. The household turns those lessons into action through the Family Preparedness Plan. The two experiences are designed to work together while keeping family answers private on the family's own device.

The workbook and Family Preparedness Plan run in the browser. Ready Little Heroes does not receive or see the answers entered into either experience.

Meet the Team Behind Ready Little Heroes

Ready Little Heroes grew from a belief that preparedness education for children could be practical, memorable and encouraging instead of frightening.

Kim — Founder & Creator

Kim is the creator of Ready Little Heroes and the driving force behind its family-centered approach to preparedness. She developed the project to give children something traditional emergency information often does not: a clear role, an understandable plan, familiar characters and the confidence that comes from knowing what to do.

That idea grew into an 18-mission interactive learning system supported by a Family Preparedness Plan, mission badges, stories, comics and family activities.

Koa — The Original Ready Little Hero

Before there was a Ready Little Heroes team, there was Koa. The real Koa inspired the character who helps guide children through the Ready Little Heroes world.

His loyalty, curiosity and unmistakable personality made him a natural starting point for a preparedness team built around helping others.

The Meet the Team page is where your approved real photographs of Kim and the real Koa should be used beside their stories.

The Ready Little Heroes world began with a real dog.

Koa is not simply a mascot added to a children's program. The real Koa inspired the character who became part of the foundation of Ready Little Heroes.

His loyalty, curiosity and larger-than-life personality translated naturally into a hero children could recognize and remember.

Koa's role connects the real family story behind Ready Little Heroes with the illustrated world children experience in the workbook, stories and products.

How many missions are there?

The complete Interactive Workbook contains 18 preparedness missions.

Can we try it first?

Yes. Families can begin with the first four interactive missions free.

Do children need an account?

No. Ready Little Heroes has no child workbook accounts, usernames, passwords or child profiles.

Does Ready Little Heroes see my child's workbook answers?

No. Answers stay in the browser on the family's own device. Ready Little Heroes does not receive, store or see them.

Can Ready Little Heroes see our Family Preparedness Plan?

No. Family-plan answers remain in the browser on the family's own device and are not transmitted to Ready Little Heroes.

What happens if I clear my browser data?

Locally stored progress or family-plan information may be removed. Ready Little Heroes may not be able to recover it because we do not have a server copy.

What is the Family Preparedness Plan?

It turns what a child learns into a practical household plan that parents, caregivers and children can work on together.

Shipping & Returns

Physical products and browser-based learning products are handled differently.

Digital and browser-based products

The Interactive Workbook and Family Preparedness Plan are browser-based experiences. They do not require physical shipping.

Physical products

Shipping availability, charges and delivery information for physical merchandise should be shown during the order process before the customer completes a purchase.

Damaged or incorrect orders

If a physical order arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, contact Ready Little Heroes with the order information and a description of the problem. Photographs may help us understand shipping damage or an incorrect item.

Returns

Because eligibility can differ by product type, customers should contact Ready Little Heroes before sending an item back. Do not mail a return without return instructions.

Privacy & Children's Safety

Ready Little Heroes is designed with privacy built into the learning experience.

No Ready Little Heroes accounts. No child profiles. Ready Little Heroes does not receive, collect, store, view, analyze, share or sell the answers entered into the Interactive Workbook or Family Preparedness Plan.

Your answers stay with you

The Interactive Workbook and Family Preparedness Plan operate in the user's browser. Answers entered into those experiences remain on the user's own device and are not transmitted to Ready Little Heroes.

Because Ready Little Heroes never receives those answers, we cannot use them for advertising, profiling, analytics, marketing, research or sale.

No child accounts

Children do not need a username, password, email address, personal profile or student account to use the learning experience.

Purchases are separate

When an adult purchases a product, the ecommerce, payment or fulfillment services used for that transaction may process information needed to complete the order, such as the adult purchaser's name, email address, billing information, shipping address and order details.

Purchase information is separate from workbook and Family Preparedness Plan answers because Ready Little Heroes never receives those answers.

Contacting Ready Little Heroes

If an adult emails Ready Little Heroes, we receive the information that adult chooses to provide. Adults should not email children's private information or the contents of a Family Preparedness Plan.

Basic website technology

Website hosting, security and ecommerce providers may process ordinary technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. This is separate from workbook and family-plan answers.

Protecting locally stored information

Clearing browser data, changing browsers, resetting a device or deleting local browser storage may remove locally saved information. Ready Little Heroes may not be able to recover information that exists only on the user's device because we do not possess a copy.
