Ready Little Heroes is a family preparedness learning adventure. Hero-led stories, activities, games, planning tools, printables, and practice help children build real-world safety skills they can understand and remember.

Children learn what to do before, during, and after everyday emergencies: stay calm, get a trusted grown-up, follow the family plan, recognize unsafe situations, and practice simple preparedness skills.

No. Our approach is Teaching Kids to Be Ready, Not Scared! We focus on age-appropriate actions children can take and give them something positive to focus on: what they can do.

Preparedness is more than buying supplies. Families make a plan, pack useful supplies, and practice together before an emergency, so everyone has a better idea of what to do next.

The Kids Zone and workbook are designed for children ages 5–10. Younger children may need a grown-up buddy for reading and practice.

No. Along with earthquakes, floods, fires, wildfires, severe weather, and winter storms, the program covers power outages, basic first aid, calling 9-1-1, pets, getting lost, home safety, heat, cold, water safety, tricky situations, online safety, and family drills.

The squad has eight characters. Each hero has a preparedness role that helps children remember a different useful skill.

The Kids Zone is the child-focused part of Ready Little Heroes. Kids can meet the heroes, hear their cheers, answer preparedness questions, and play simple safety games.

Yes. The Kids Zone is its own experience and can be explored separately from the workbook.

It is an interactive, hero-led preparedness program with stories, checklists, quizzes, activities, missions, badges, and a Certified Hero completion activity.

The workbook includes family planning, go-bags, earthquakes, floods and heavy rain, fires and wildfires, severe weather, winter storms, power outages, first-aid basics, calling 9-1-1, pets, getting lost, home safety, heat, cold and water safety, tricky situations and online safety, practice drills, and Certified Hero.

The Kids Zone is free to explore. The interactive workbook includes four free chapters: Welcome, Hero!, My Family Emergency Plan, Build a Go-Bag, and Earthquakes. The next chapter, Floods & Heavy Rain, begins the full-access portion.

No. The current workbook does not require an account. Its answers, activities, and earned badges save privately in the browser and device being used, so progress does not automatically transfer to another browser or device.

Yes. The workbook includes printable activities and is designed for families to use as a hands-on learning experience as well as an interactive browser experience.

No. Ready Little Heroes encourages children to work with a grown-up buddy. Parents, teachers, and youth-group leaders can guide activities, planning, and practice.

Chapters include hands-on missions such as matching, quizzes, word searches, crosswords, mazes, coloring, and other challenges. Children can earn mission badges as they work through the program and celebrate with the Certified Hero activity at the end.

It brings family meeting places, contacts, pet profiles, supply checklists, and disaster guides together in one place. Families can fill it out in the browser or print it for home, a go-bag, or grandparents.

No. The Family Emergency Plan stays in your own browser. Ready Little Heroes does not store or see the information you enter.

A Go-Bag is a prepared bag with useful supplies for a situation where a family needs to leave quickly or cannot use normal household supplies. Children can help choose age-appropriate items, while adults decide what the family needs.

Get a trusted grown-up and follow the family emergency plan. One of the most important Ready Little Heroes lessons is knowing when to ask for help.

No. The program teaches age-appropriate safety and first-aid concepts, not professional medical treatment or dangerous equipment use. In an emergency, children should get a trusted grown-up, follow official instructions, and call 9-1-1 when appropriate.

Feeling scared can be normal in an emergency. Simple calming skills can help children pause, listen, and follow instructions instead of panicking.
